Meet for Not Meat
Though I have some very serious issues with veganism, I am also a journalist at my core, so I am into all that fairness and balance stuff. So, in the interest of fairness and balance, The Kitchenette gives you (drum roll, please)… DC Meat-Free Week.
Concocted by DC Vegan in answer to last week’s Meat Week adventures, DC’s first Meat-Free Week features 8 crazy days of meatless goodness at various locations around the Washington metro area. In light of the little dusting of snow the mid-Atlantic got this weekend, there is some reshuffling and rescheduling going on. But never fear, the blog seems to be well-updated, so keep checking in.
We here at The Kitchenette were pretty excited about Meat Week, and honestly the Meat-Free Week schedule looks just as, if not more exciting. Chef Nora Pouillon and Restaurant Nora are Washington treasures and it’s never hard to come up with excuses to go to Busboys and Poets.
Our Meat Week experience was excellent, btw. And while The Kitchenette might have problems with a strict vegan diet, we do eat vegetarian meals on a pretty regular basis. In fact, stay tuned for more meatless meals here soon.
